The other day we went to Lidl to get some shopping done. Life has turned upside down for everyone in 2020, hasn't it? We got our facemasks, and into the shop we went. There it's been a while now that we have wear some sort of face cover in shops, so many now think that it does not apply to them. Rules are clearly made to be broken. People don't seem to care about others' personal space, and even less now. Everyone acts as if we're not in this together.
We got our shopping done, I got some peaches, but still a bit tough, so will be good a few days later. Got a nice sticky toffee pudding for my name day celebration.
On the Saturday we celebrated our "would be our wedding day". We got Paesano pizza takeaway and wine, and cheesecake from Tesco. Not usually a fan of cheesecakes, but this one was with passion fruit and raspberries, sweet but tangy. Kinda like life is, and what I expect married life to be.
Even though we didn't actually get married, it still feels like an important time in our relationship. And it's maybe even better, because we know for sure what we want, to be together. People get cancelled weddings for far worse reasons, right? At least we still got each other. ❤️

Don't Wake Me Up
If I actually do fall asleep in September, make sure to not wake me up.
I can't think straight. I honestly need some REAL rest from everything, yes - every fucking thing. I'm way too exhausted to be functioning as a real human being. I am physically and emotionally tired. I need space. I need time. I need to manage my time, so I can rest.
I have to decide what to do...

Change, Change, Change, and Again CHANGE
I'm not talking about the change you get when you pay with a bill for something that is worth less and then you get change back. And I am not talking about me changing, I've talked about that a lot before, but not now...well not really.
Summer has just slipped through my fingers. It was so much to hold, so much to bare, and so much to live with (now). But now summer is over. It is over length wise, since I've been celebrating summer ever since I quit my job in Scotland. And if anyone knows, that happened at the near-end of May (!!!).
I then had my amazing cycling trip, which has so far been the best choice I've made in my life. I gained more than I ever expected to gain from such a trip. Some things to mention, I challenged myself; it was a real physical and mental challenge. I met some really amazing people, and a great diversity of people. I got to stay with people and see how things differ between neighbouring countries in Europe. I had plenty of me-time, I had time to think, I had time to worry, and most important, I had time to be happy!
Once I arrived home I had to change my point of view, I had to change who I was. I had been living totally independently for the last two years, and I had been living away from everyone I knew for three years. So now I had to adjust to a different life, I was (am) now dependant on other people, and as I am present here I have much different expectations from other people. I celebrated Latvian midsummer, got to see Song and Dance festival events, I met people that I hadn't seen in a while, I went places where I hadn't been, I got a job in a hotel... AND I signed up for university and luckily got accepted into Sociology!
Then August came and I was yet again set free (by none other than myself) to go on another trip. This one was of a much different nature, and I did not travel alone. I went with a friend-of-a-friend and we went on a hitchhiking trip through several countries. We begun our trip by taking a plane to Milan. From there we went to Slovenia, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and eventually back to Latvia. This trip took us two weeks and two days. It was, again, a really nice trip. I got to see places where I had been when I was younger, I got to see places where I had not yet been, and I got to see roads that I had cycled not too long ago. It was a diverse trip, we had ups and downs along the way, but all in all, we were happy. We had no terrible accidents along the way, and no life threatening situations. We met some folks that we might see again someday.
When I arrived back to Riga, I hosted some people from couch surfing. That, of course, again, was new for me, a very interesting experience to be the host, not the surfer. I showed people the city, we had some drinks, and I cooked some meals. I also met a special person that changed a part of me, or should I say he changed the way I see certain things. It was a very happy and sad encounter - an all-in-one, if you may.. It was great! I got back to work, went to theatre, met people, went out of the city couple of times, participated in Latvia's Universities student celebration...
And now it is September. I have yet again begun school. It has just begun and I feel like I'll like it, I might even love it! I know how to manage my time, and I know what to do to get good grades, and how to learn as much as humanly possible.. now it is simply up to me to use all the previous experience and knowledge for my own advantage, and then things will keep up, things will be good again. I'll be a busy bird, and in my experience, the more I have to do, the more I get done. So yeah, you want me to do something, sure, no probs, BRING IT ON!!!
So that's my amazing summer in a summary... but I could honestly write an entire book about the last few months!

It's been a week since I moved. And just about yesterday I realized that I've lived in four places in the last 12 moths. How crazy is that? It's a rhetorical question, no need to answer. It seems like all I've been doing is looking for a new room to rent.
Anywho, I really hope that this place will be satisfying enough to not have to move again any times soon. At least not while I'm in this city.
I moved to a place where I was least likely to move to. A flat on the other end of the city, meaning I have to take public transportation in the morning to get to work. (I am a person who can not stand crowded buses!!!) Before I used to walk almost everywhere, but now I have a bus pass, so I choose to take the bus even if for a short distance.
Second is that I live with one person, a guy, from a different ethnic background. While originally I was looking to live with more than one person, since I've always believed it is more fun to live with more people. While I don't necessarily like people with me all the time, i like knowing that there is someone in the house. And well, I chose a flat that is not very cheap, the rational part of me would have gone with a not-so-good flat with cheaper rent.
So I contradicted myself in every way, chose something that I was least likely to choose. This surprised not only me, but people around me as well.
Last Saturday I was out with some friends, and got home at around 3 am. I had to be in work on Sunday, so I went straight to bed to get at least a little sleep. At 7 am there were police officers banging at the door (welcome to the neighbourhood), they had received a call from my flatmates cell phone, and they had come here to check if everything was ok. However, my flatmate wasn't home, so it was quite frustrating. The police, and I called him several times, but he refused to share his location. It was so confusing!!!
But in the end everything turned out well, and I even made it on time to work.
On Monday was poker night, but Bar 10 was closed and no one had been informed that it will be shut for the night. So we all just went to a casino to play poker there, but i had little luck and lost soon. Played some Blackjack, that turned out to be fun, since I got some money out of it! :P
Rest of the week went by pretty well. Work is like usual, just getting to it is a hassle, ..no it's not a hassle, but ugh, i just dislike going to work by bus. When it's time to get home, it literally takes ages. OK, NO it does not, but it takes long. I don't like this. But I'll get used to it.
On Thursday I bought pizza. Had watermelon for dessert. And topped the evening with loads of Youtube videos (enjoyed the unlimited wi-fi).
Friday I went out with two gals. The club was alright, but one of the girls got sick soon, and started disappearing on us. So we found her and had to call it a night a bit earlier than expected. By the time I got home I too got a bit sick. Probably because too much drinks had been mixed (wine, champagne, gin, apple sourz....). And today I had a bad hangover, I don't usually get that.. It was not a pleasant morning. Spent rest of the day watching Big Bang Theory and Bones.
My life really seems empty at the moment, maybe I need a new hobby, or just pick up an old one...?

Money Matters
It's almost 2013. Who would've knew that the year will go by so fast? The year really did go by fast, but when you come to think about it, many, many things have happened since the beginning of the year.
I was going to do a later sum-up-the-year post, but I have a feeling that this one will turn out into one.
In the long run it has turned out to be a travel year. January was the start of this journey, I went to Paris. In a way it had always been a dream city for me. Not entirely, but it was definitely one on my checklist. How could it not be, right? Then I also visited Scotland's capital, Edinburgh. Compared to Glasgow, it is much, much cleaner and more beautiful. February was a long month as well. I got my dad a lovely camera for birthday, then I went home to visit for a week. Also, in February before going to Latvia, I moved in with different people. Lovely people, and I come to thinking that the time I spent living with them has been by far the best time in Scotland. Living with Inga was great! I mean, I had a good friend for all that time.
Then March finally came and I went BUNGEE jumping. Now that was amazing. It was something I had always wanted to try, and was so very glad I finally did it. It was better than I had though it would be.
April went by quietly, did not do much, I suppose some small things added up.
In May I went to Northern Ireland. Before that my mom visited me on her way to Canada.
In June I bought my unicycle, and that is why it is called June. :D In July I got a new bicycle since my previous one got destroyed at the beginning of June.
In August I went about to see some other cities in Scotland, I visited Stirling and I visited Aberdeen. In September right after my birthday I went to Ireland, Dublin. After that I had a party for my birthday, it was fun. In October I went to London, and met my brother there, and we had a couple great days in the big city. November was the next best thing after Paris, I visited Iceland. An country with fascinating scenery. Then I went home again for a week to visit my family.
And it is December now already. Shall see what will happen before it ends.
There it is, my year in a few sentences.
Now I really gotta run. :D

DUBLIN
Yeah, my birthday times continue. I slept zero hours on the tuesday night. I could have, but I decided not to. I was busy listening to lame songs, and trying to find out what is there to see in Dublin. I also got a day tour on which I went on yesterday. That was great. Today I still have a few things to do, so I should really get going. My flight is tomorrow quite early, but today I shall go out!! :)
Hope it goes well!!!

It's not always easy to live like I do. I know it might seem as nothing hard, being reckless. But for me, as a person who still has some dignity, and sense of responsibility, it is not always easy to just do things, and think later (or not think at all). Yesterday was poker night at Bar Ten. I had not been to a game for a while now (even thought I had gone over there on a Monday anyway, just for a few drinks). I did well, just as I thought I would and placed second. After that some of us headed to the karaoke bar, where I finally saw/heard Gunta sing. I don't remember what she was singing though, something not too well-known. Blah, blah, blah, night went on, and things got out of hand. Hahaha, I did something that I shouldn't have done. It's the aftermath that kind of makes me want to stop being stupid. I really should learn to let it go. Some day I will be gone from Glasgow, and then I will simply remember that I had a really fun time. It will all be history. I got home at 8:05, and left for work at 8:20. At 8:30 I was rocking and rolling at work. My supervisor made a comment "Don't you just love being young?" of course, I agreed to this statement. :D
Anywhore, I am still only a human, and a part of me wishes yesterday never happened. But it did, so I'll take the best of it and live on with my odd life.
Oh, and Friday night was pretty sick as well, but I can't really tell more that I already did.
Just saying.

Day by Day
We all have different times in life. We have the ones where we are down, sad, and feeling anything but useless. Times when we can't help others. Then, what is even more pathetic is that we can not even help ourselves. Right now my life feels like it's at a stop. Well, picture this, life is a bus ride. We ride from one end to another. So, taking this analogy, my life is at a bus stop. I am not entirely sure if I am a late bus, or if I am running ahead of the schedule, since there really is no schedule, but I AM AT A BUS STOP. I do not know where my bus is going, or where from it is coming, but I am here now, and to be honest, I am taking a lot out of it. I am at a bus stop of ignorance, of laziness, of parties, of the crazy-youth-days kind of things. And yeah, I am in a way jealous of my friends (a.k.a. ex-friends) that are at uni, studying, and pursuing their dreams, and developing their skills. But when I look at it from another perspective, when else will I be able to be stupid, and reckless? I believe it it possible to do all at once, but I really love not caring about consequences (well, in the short run anyway). Of course I too have a line, that I will never cross (i.e. braking the law, for instance). But for now, it is all right to party all night long, then go to work, then party the following night as well. It is fine because my job is shit (what else could it be), I care very little for it. People that I party with (at least most of them) are shallow pigs (yeah, i have learned to be a hypocrite) and I couldn't care less for what they think of me, since I will be leaving this god damned city anyway. Of course, the question is WHEN will I be leaving and to WHERE.
Anyway, for now I will be rude, mean, stupid, prudent, crazy, dumb, all-over-the place, careless.....etc.
But, hey, don't you worry, some day I will grow up. Just now yet, not yet. :P

Lai gan man šķiet, ka organisms man ir pieradis ap to laiku celties. You do the math.
Bračka raksta, ka kaķis slims. Infekcija astē. Pašam brālim vaina kājā. Bēdīgi. :(
Turklāt es pati savas muļķības dēļ esmu apslimusi. Neko, dzeru siltas tējas un klepus sīrupu. Viss būs labi.
Ja esi kaku lācis, tad piecas reizes pietupies un tad skaļi nobļaujies, ka šodien ārā saulains laiks.
Lai tā saule spīd. Pēc rīta pankūkām došos uz centru. Bez vakars vēl miglā tīts..
Kā tev labi klājas? ;)

No rīta cepu pankūkas, protams. Līdz ar to tagad esmu pārgurusi.
Ja jāteic atklāti, man tā viņu ņemšanas jau tiešām līdz kaklam. Šitā turpināt es neļaušu. :P

Dos Semanas
Lately i've partied like never before. It's been normal to get to work with a terrible hangover. Mondays have been out of control. Getting home at 4am this Monday seemed like an early night. So i've decided to change things up. I've been planning this since last week. I said that when my (now ex) boyfriend would leave, i'd stay off alcohol for a week. But then by the end of last week i reimproved this plan, now i'll stay off alcohol for two weeks. The two weeks started yesterday, on a Tuesday.
I'm excited for this. Haha. :D
Bet rīt tētim vārda diena. :)

Pirmdiena.
Pirmdien gāja jautri. Biju uz Slotu poker vakaru. Todien sākās jauna sezona. Gāja man visai labi, ierindojos otrajā vietā no 18 spēlētājiem. Pašai prieks. Vēl es laimēju īpašo, ceļojošo cepuri. To vinnē tā, ka izsit laukā to, kam iepriekš bijusi šī cepure. Tad nu nākamnedēļ tas, kas izsitīs mani iegūs cepuri, un nedaudz piķi, desmit mārciņas. Kad pokeris bij galā tiku pierunāta doties tusēt. Bijām uz to pašu klubu kuru iepriekšējā nedēļā.
Eh, mūžu dzīvo, mūžu mācies.
Nākamais poker vakars būs svētdien ar letiņiem, tad pirmdien ar skotiem. Tagad drīz 'jāceļas', lai dotos uz darbu.. Lai gan ir day off.
Jauku jums nedēļas nogali. Es varbūt sestdien braukšu uz Edinburgu..tas vēl nav izlemts.
Atā pagaidām.

The Great Lame Ideas
I bought a typewriter. It's blue with black buttons. It's in my room. It smells like history. It is perfect.
The past few days have been quite event-full. Friday I was drinking with some coworkers. Then Saturday morning i got my typewriter. And the evening was spent by drinking with my flat mates. Sunday i had to work, hangover, but alive. Sunday evening was the latvian poker night. Once poker was over we went to a pub. I was home at about three am. Monday, work again. Hangover again. Evening - went to play poker with the Scottish people. And i got the first place out of 20 players. Was an amazing feeling. Then we went to a pub. After that we took a taxi to friend's place. And then i started walking home. I sort of got lost, since i had no clue where i was. I ended up on a highway, i think. That night i had a LOT of beer. Was worth it though. Had a good night. As i was on my way, a cab driver stopped and asked me if i was lost and where i was heading. He gave me a lift home. For free. He said that his work day was over and he was heading home already. And he also said that he feels good for helping a nice person. I couldn't stop saying "thank you"s. Was home by three am, again. Tuesday - work. Gosh, drinking THAT much before a work day was not a smart idea. But i survived. Now i need sleep. But maybe i'll go to Starbucks later to write something.. :)
That's all you get for now folks. Take care my dear friends.
I'm happy!

Ej atpūsties bērns rīt gara diena. Es labprāt atbrauktu ciemos un satiktu tevi jau kārtējo reizi, bet tu tač zini, tu tač saproti. Vaine?
Jā, man ir uzmetusies kārtējā piektdienas neizlēmība.

Night Night
Ok, so i went to the pre-party, or shall i say 'function', at friend's flat. However, i was not planning to go to the union's party afterwards. But then Laserman made me change my mind. We got there at close to midnight, which is when the door closes. To my surprise, there was a line, but they still let people in after twelve, so yeeeey. Haha. Anywho.
The party was alright, i guess. At first the music was really lame. And, oh gosh, they had run out of Calsberg. Wth??? Oh well.
Got back to residence fairly late, but had a wee chat with Laserman. Then went off to sleep.
The morning came too soon. My head hurt a bit, and my mind was all over the place.
But i couldn't stay in the bed for long, since i needed to pack to go to Latvia. :) Now i'm almost done packing, and i also cleaned my room. As i always do, so i can return to a clean place. My cold, i think, is backing off, since all the 'bad' stuffs coming out now. Although i still feel bad. Oh, and my mom called me around noon. That was really great! She was in the airport at that time, and yeah. Was cool to talk to her for a bit since i'm not going to see her now, when i'll be visiting.
Also, great stuff, my flight is super early tomorrow, before the trains start to run. So guess what? I'm taking the last, or second last train today and then i'll spend the night at the airport. Fun stuff!! :o
AND i'll also be missing Laserman's birthday. Not sure if i've mentioned it before(?). He's birthday is on Friday, but I hope to celebrate it with him when i come back. :)
Alright dear imaginary friends, i'm off to get ready. And maybe before i leave i'll go to the BBQ that the other people are organizing..maybe. That's not yet final... I don't really have any 'grillable' food. Haha.
Ok, ok, ok, i'm done blah-blah-ing for now.
P.S. Something tells me that i might post again while at the airport. ;)

Teletūbijs.
Šodien dabūjām atpakaļ savus mikroekonomikas kontroldarbus. Klases vidējā atzīme esot bijusi 58 procenti. Man bija labi virs vidējā. :) Baigais prieks.
Lieliski.
Āā, šodien pirmais aprīlis, bet man garīgais nenes uz jokiem. Un šaubos vai es šodien došos ballēties. Zinu, ka vajadzētu, bet nav jau spēka. Varbūt pagulēšu, un jutīšos labāk. Un vēl varbūt jānoņamma kāda ķiplok maizīte.
Eh, es eju pukstēt.

Party Test
-We're having a little gathering.
-What kind of 'gathering'?
-Like last thursday. [it was st. Patrics day, i.e. lots of beer]
-So there's going to be drinking?
....
Yes, of course i went to the get together! Majour test coming up in a few hours. Maaaan this was so worth it. Just hope i will not have a bad hangover tomorrow.
Good night (good night, good night, good night, good night, good night, good night, good night.....)
And, no, i do not have your slipper. (Don't worry, it's an inside joke, you're not supposed to get it (just like the 'good night' thing).)
Yes, sorry, i'll shut up now.
